TOLEDO—More than 230 people braved the inclement weather to attend the annual benefit auction for Toledo St. Pius X School March 11, which was themed “Cruising the Caribbean.”

Close to $50,000 was counted before expenses. The majority of the money raised will go directly to the endowment fund and the rest will be used for enrichment projects in the classrooms.

The excitement of the evening occurred when the winning key unlocked the treasure chest with cash and prizes worth more than $1,000. The holder of that winning key was Melanie Kleinfelter.

Those present and sponsors of the event included Missy and Andy Anderzack, Judy and Gene Canestraro, Gloria and Mark Buganski, Mr. and Mrs. Hendricius Albregt and Diane and Garry Saccone. Dave Carlson from Channel 11 served as master of ceremonies.
