Aqua-Knights set four new pool records |

FREMONT—The Toledo St. Francis de Sales High School Aqua-Knights won the Little Giant Invitational swim meet in Fremont by more than 300 points, setting four new pool records and establishing several top state standards.
The 200 Free Relay Team scored first with a pool record time of 1:28.98, which places them currently in first place in the state. The Knights 400 Free Relay team also broke the pool record, ranking them third in the state. The Knights 200 Medley Relay is ranked first in the district and seventh in the state.
Senior Roman Willets, who recently signed to swim at third-in-the-nation University of Michigan, set a pool record and is first-ranked in the state in the 100 back (51.52). Sophomore teammate Rowan Williams ranked 13th in the state and third in the North West (NW) District in the backstroke (54.52).
Roman set a pool record in the 200 free at the meet and is ranked first in the state with a time of 1:40.06. Senior teammate Joe Katich is currently ranked 18th in the state and second in district in the same event (1:46.62). Roman is ranked first in district in the 200 IM, 50 free, 100 fly, 100 free, 100 fly and 500 free: every event in the district except for the breaststroke. He carries Senior National or Junior National cuts in all of his events.
In an enormously deep team, many more Knights, including several underclassmen, are currently ranked in the top 10 in the district:
• Sophomore Dan Miller, fourth in 200 free and ninth in 100 free;
• sophomore Rowan Williams, fifth in 200 free, fifth in 100 free and second in 500 free;
• senior Joe Katich, third in 200 IM, fifth in 50 free, fifth in 100 butterfly, seventh in 500 free and third in 100 free;
• junior Matt Marshall, sixth in 50 free, sixth in 100 back and fourth in 100 free;
• sophomore Mike DiSalle, sixth in 200 free, 10th in 200 IM, seventh in 100 fly, seventh in 100 free and fifth in 500 free;
• sophomore Nick Carmony, fifth in 100 back ;
• freshman D.J. MacDonald, eighth in 200 IM and second in 100 breast;
• senior Adam Borgman, seventh in 200 free and ninth in 500 free;
• junior Jake Hunter, ninth in 200 free and seventh in 100 back;
• sophomore Kyle Crawford, 10th in 100 fly and ninth in 100 back;
• freshman Dan DiSalle seventh in 50 free and sixth in 100 free
• junior Ben Spang, 10th in 500 free;
• junior Samuel Evola, eighth in 100 breast;
• sophomore diver Dylan Szegedi, first in district;
• senior diver Alex Jessop, second in district; and
• senior diver Jake Albright ninth in district.
The Knights share ownership of four team state titles, 14 individual state titles, two state high school records, one national high school record (400 Free Relay), 42 district titles, one district runner-up, five national All-Academic designations, and more than 250 individual national high school All-American awards. The Aqua-Knights are coached by Keith Kennedy, Ryan McRoberts, Dave Eisenstein and diving coach Scott TenEyck.
