Knights host career strategy seminar

TOLEDO—St. Francis de Sales High School is hosting its first career strategy seminar for young alumni ages 18 to 26.

The seminar begins at 3 p.m. Dec. 21 at the school. More than 20 alumni human resource specialists and career experts are to be on hand to speak about maximizing career options in a highly competitive workforce environment.

Eric Thoreson, a 1976 graduate of St. Francis is a professional recruiter with more than 20 years of experience and co-founder of Netsoft in California. He is to speak on “How to Stand Out — What You Didn’t Learn in College.” An expert in his field, he brings a unique set of tools and information to share regarding matching an individual’s talent and skills with the right employer.

In addition there are break-out sessions:
• How to Develop Your Elevator Speech
• How and Where to Look for a Job
• Interviewing Do’s and Don’ts
• Networking

Industries represented at the seminar include banking, engineering, medicine, pharmaceutical sales, journalism, religious vocations, architecture, financial planning, stock broker, law and others.
