TOLEDO—The Mary Immaculate Board of Trustees has appointed Shelli Staudt as the first lay principal of Mary Immaculate School, effective July 15.
Ms. Staudt has spent the past nine years teaching in Akron City Schools as an intervention specialist, working with children experiencing numerous learning challenges, youth with autism spectrum disorders and students diagnosed with Specific Learning Disorders (SLD).
She recently completed her Master of Science in Education degree with an emphasis in educational leadership at the University of Dayton.
Ms. Staudt is a native of Toledo and only lived outside of northwest Ohio during her years in Akron. She was also employed by the Sisters of Notre Dame from 1995 through 1999 as a teacher at the former Ladyfield School.
Mary Immaculate School is sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame and has been serving children with unique learning needs since 1960. Students who have struggled in a traditional classroom setting realize their full potential at Mary Immaculate through one-on-one and small group instruction.
