TOLEDO—St Francis de Sales High School (SFS) senior Roman Willets broke the longest standing senior record at St. Francis de Sales High School and the Greater Toledo Aquatic Club (GTAC) recently. He swam the 200-yard freestyle in a Senior National cut time of 1:40.06. The record of 1:40.10 was previously held by SFS/GTAC standout Jake Harms, of Maumee, since 1992.

Roman also achieved a second Senior National cut in the 100 freestyle with a time of 45.95, making him the fastest high school swimmer in Ohio in that event.
The 17-year-old senior from Whitehouse has signed to swim with Mike Bottoms of the University of Michigan. Roman is coached by SFS and GTAC Head Coach Keith Kennedy, and is the son of Mary and Steve Willets.
