TOLEDO—Erin Leidy, a senior at St. Ursula Academy, was named a semifinalist in the 2008 Presidential Scholars competition.

Of the 2.8 million graduating seniors this spring, approximately 3,000 were identified as candidates for the Presidential Scholars Program. Erin is one of 560 semifinalists from this group.

Erin has the opportunity to become a Presidential Scholar based on academic achievement including scoring exceptionally well on the SAT or ACT tests. Application is by invitation only; neither schools nor students apply directly to the program.
