Theologians explore growth, challenges of catechesis

TOLEDO--Six theologians of local, national and international renown will invite audiences at Corpus Christi University Parish (CCUP) at the University of Toledo (UT) to reflect on the dynamics of religious formation as they have changed and developed in the four decades since the Second Vatican Council and to explore the challenges of contemporary catechesis in the Catholic Christian tradition.
Developed and arranged by UT’s Dr. Richard Gaillardetz, the six-week 2009 Fall Lecture Series runs Tuesday nights at CCUP from Sept. 29 through Nov. 3. Each lecture begins promptly at 5:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi’s Dorr Street facility, and concludes by 6:30 p.m.A question period with each speaker follows from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Tickets for individual lectures are available for $10. Series tickets for all six lectures are also available for purchase for $30 through Sept. 29.
Corpus Christi is also hosting the 9th Annual McCormick Conference on Moral Theology on Nov. 19, featuring BostonCollege’s Jesuit Father James Keenan. A combination ticket for all six fall lectures and the McCormick Conference is available for $40. UT faculty and staff are admitted free with a university-issued ID card.
