KALIDA—This fall, the Growing Faith Project is to be introduced at Kalida St. Michael as a response to the U.S. bishops’ call for adult formation and education in the Catholic faith, says Precious Blood Father Kenneth Alt, pastor of St. Michael.
The project provides the opportunity for parish members to explore many facets of Catholicism through prayer, reading and dialogue in small groups of eight to 10 participants.
Topics discussed in the fall are to include “Why Do We Need the Church?” “How Do We Recognize the Church?” “Why Do People Turn Away from God?” “What Is Sin?” and “How Do We Cultivate Virtues?”
During the Lenten season topics include “How Do We Know and Honor God?” “How Do We Keep Holy the Lord’s Day?” “What Is a Household of Faith?” “How Should We Live as a Community?” and “When Do We Have Too Much?”
There are 48 themes in the Growing Faith Project, which Fr. Alt says the parish plans to develop over three years.
