Holy Family parishioner recognized for volunteerism in parish, community

NEW CLEVELAND—The Catholic Ladies of Columbia announced Brenda Brinkman of New Cleveland Council 215 was selected the 2008 CLC Fraternalist of the Year for the State of Ohio.

Exemplifying the spirit of volunteerism, commitment and devotion to family and friends, Mrs. Brinkman has served for many years at New Cleveland Holy Family as an extraordinary minister of holy Communion, lector and choir member. She has also been an instructor for the confirmation candidates, helped with vacation Bible school and the church directory and volunteered in the Marriage Encounter program.

In her local community Mrs. Brinkman supports the American Cancer Society and the MS Society. She is the immediate past president of CLC Council 215 and has been an active member for more than 35 years.

Mrs. Brinkman, who works full time as a nurse, she has involves her family in many of her volunteer efforts. She and her husband, Greg, have five children — Alaina, Aaron, Jarrod, Rochelle and Danielle — and four grandchildren.
 
Mrs. Brinkman’s name has been submitted to the NFCA’s national contest for Fraternalist of the Year.
