GLANDORF—Members of Glandorf St. John the Baptist are organizing a new fall festival called St. Bonifest, named after St. Boniface, the German patron saint.
The festival is to be held Oct. 30 at Glandorf Elementary School’s St. John’s Hall. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. with an outdoor Mass at the Marian Shrine across from the church.
A meal is to be served from 5-6:30 p.m. at a cost of $7 for adults and $4 for children. A highlight of the meal is sweet corn that was prepared and frozen this summer by parish members.
Also beginning at 5 p.m. is entertainment, including a big screen TV showing the Ohio State vs. Minnesota football game, gambling and games. Refreshments include beer and brats. A silent auction runs through 9:30 p.m.
Various music, including polka begins at 7:30 p.m. with the Bavarian Brass.
Organizers plan to make St. Bonifest an annual fundraising event, held the last Saturday of October.
