NORWALK—The youngest students at Norwalk Catholic School are encouraged to be “Smart Cookies” by practicing the life skills they learn at school.

The skills include caring, common sense, cooperation, courage, curiosity, effort, flexibility, friendship, initiative, integrity, organization, patience, perseverance, pride, problem solving, responsibility and sense of humor.

To encourage children at the Early Childhood Center to practice these skills, many of which are modeled by Jesus, a student receives a “good cookie” award every time they are seen using one of the life skills. Five “good cookie” awards are redeemed for “cookies” (actually cookie cereal) at the school office.
