MANSFIELD—Michael Snider, originally from the Mansfield area, was ordained a deacon Jan. 12 at Mansfield Our Lady of the Snows Church by Jesuit Bishop Álvaro Corrada of Tyler, Texas. Deacon Snider, a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, was actively involved in parish ministry at St. James the Apostle Church in Sulphur Springs, Texas, prior to entering the Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, Conn. He has been assigned to Sacred Heart Parish in Texarkana, Texas, for diaconal ministry.
