MANSFIELD—Four graduating seniors were recognized with special awards during commencement exercises for Mansfield St. Peter High School. Valedictorian of the class of 2009 is Curran Rhodes. A National Merit commended student, Curran participated in Key Club, soccer, track, student council and Mock Trial, for which he was named outstanding witness. He plans to attend Ohio University and major in business with a minor in Spanish. Curran is the son of Ann and Clayton Rhodes.

Hannah Stewart and Ethan Keller are recipients of the Bishop’s Cross awards, which are given to one male and one female graduate at each Catholic high school in the Diocese of Toledo with a high grade point average in religion, who manifest excellence in character, service and leadership. Hannah, who is ranked fourth in the senior class of 35, was captain of the swim and tennis teams and president of Key Club. She was a eucharistic minister, tutor, member of the National Honor Society and won a Scholar Athlete Award. Hannah plans to attend the University of Dayton and major in chemistry. She is the daughter of Lorraine and John Stewart. Ethan Keller, who was National Honor Society president, was captain of the golf and baseball teams, received four-year awards in math and science, a Student Athlete Award, was Second Team All-District in baseball and golf, was a eucharistic minister and a Kairos Retreat leader. Ethan plans to attend Miami University and study architecture. He is the son of Sandra and Stephen Keller.
Mary Frame, daughter of Judy Frame and Chester Frame, is salutatorian of the class of 2009. A member of the National Honor Society, Mary received four-year awards for Latin and English, National Latin Exam Recognition, Society of Women Engineers Highest Honor and was involved in the school play and musical. Mary plans to attend Baldwin-Wallace College where she intends to major in criminal justice and psychology.
