MAUMEE—St. Luke’s Hospital is offering several sessions of its Safe Sitter class for boys and girls ages 11 to 13 this summer. The sessions are to be held June 13, June 19, June 23, July 7, July 17 and Aug. 6. Class time is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the hospital, 5901 Monclova Rd.
Taught by nurses, youth learn safe and nurturing child-care techniques, behavior management skills and appropriate responses to medical emergencies. The class costs $35 and includes lunch and snacks.
Because summer classes fill quickly, early spring registration is recommended by calling 419-897-8484. In addition, special reservations can be made for groups of six or more, like Girl Scout Troops or 4-H Clubs.
