Priests for Life to speak at Perrysburg St. Rose

PERRYSBURG—Augustinian Father Denis Wilde, an associate with Priests for Life, is the guest speaker at  Respect Life Weekend at Perrysburg St. Rose.

Fr. Wilde is to preach at all Masses Oct. 11-12. He is also presiding and preaching at a Respect Life Prayer Vigil at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at the church, 215 East Front Street.

A member of the Augustinian Province of St. Thomas of Villanova, he was an associate professor of music at Villanova University from 1977 to 1998 before joining Priests for Life.

Fr. Wilde has been actively involved in pro-life concerns since before Roe v. Wade. In the 1980s, he personally witnessed to the “rescue” movement. Beyond preaching and teaching on campus, he has traveled to more than 450 venues in 43 states delivering the gospel of life and supporting the local pro-life efforts of clergy and laity.

Priests for Life was started in 1991 to help priests around the world spread the gospel of life to their people. The mission of Priests for Life is to give special emphasis to life issues in their ministry. It seeks to help people take a more vocal and active role in the pro-life movement, with predominant emphasis on the issues of abortion and euthanasia.
