SYLVANIA—Lourdes College is giving lyricists and musicians the opportunity to have their work be a part of history. Between Aug. 24 and Sept. 21, members of the college community including students, alumni, faculty, staff, trustees and the Sisters of St. Francis, are invited to participate in Lourdes’ Fight Song Challenge competition.

Fight Song entries must include original lyrics and a melody. The contents of the song should be related to Lourdes’ history and mission and should reflect the college’s Gray Wolves mascot. An audio recording is required for initial entries. Assistance with recording a submission will be available to individuals through the Student Activities Department. Multiple submissions are permitted.

The top three to five songs will be chosen Oct. 2 and available for a community vote. Each song will be recorded by the same individual to create parity in the selection process. Voting will take place Oct. 5-9.
