TOLEDO—The Junior Girl Scout Troop 581 from Sylvania St. Joseph Elementary School learned how to put themselves in comics and post them online when they spent time with the Toledo Central Catholic High School (CCHS) department of technology.

Chris Hamady, director of technology, discussed with the girls computer data systems, components and interfaces, basic computer terminology and functions and how to use Web sites in order to research conservation tips and resources.

The girls then wrote a script based upon the type of conservation of their choosing (energy, water, environment), and used that script to create a comic strip with the computer program, Comic Life.

The Girl Scouts were successful in earning their Computer Fun badges while visiting CCHS and learned how to take pictures of themselves and use the computer to insert themselves into the comic strip.
