DEFIANCE—A pro-life march and activities against the Roe v. Wade abortion decision are scheduled for Jan. 22.
Activities begin with Mass at Defiance St. John at 9 a.m. Following Mass is exposition of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the day, ending with Benediction at 6 p.m.
The march itself begins noon at the Defiance County Courthouse. A police escort is to lead the march, which ends at the Monument for the Unborn at the Defiance Catholic School St. John’s Campus.
Speakers — including Father Dan Borgelt, Deacon Jeff Mayer, Ann Barrick, the Rev. Donald Luhring, Ellen Up and Kelly Shininger — are to lead the marchers in prayer and give their thoughts on the abortion issue.
Students from four area schools are participating in the march. All are welcome to join in any of the activities.
The pro-life march and activities are sponsored by the Mother Teresa Respect for Life group in Defiance.
