Mrs. Schrickel is a 1970 graduate of Clyde St. Mary and 1974 graduate of Clyde High School. She has a diploma in nursing from Toledo Mercy School of Nursing; a business degree from Terra Technical College; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bowling Green State University, Firelands campus; and has done graduate studies at the Medical University of Ohio (now University of Toledo Health Science Campus) and New England College.

Mrs. Schrickel and her husband, Jim, reside in Clyde. They have three daughters, Sarah, Brooke and Karen.
