ADRIAN—A partnership agreement between Oregon Cardinal Stritch High School and Siena Heights University allows qualified Cardinal Stritch graduates to receive a guaranteed minimum of $5,000 in financial aid and additional dedicated scholarship commitments.

Under the partnership that runs until Sept. 1, 2014, Cardinal Stritch students who attend Siena Heights on a full-time basis following their high school graduation are eligible for several designated scholarships, including two Trustee Scholarships ($10,000 per student per academic year), five Presidential Scholarships ($8,500), five Dean’s Scholarships ($6,000) and five Siena Honor Scholarships ($4,000). There are also Siena Catholic High School/Parish Grants ($1,000) for qualified students attending directly from Cardinal Stritch.

For students who do not qualify for one of the merit scholarships, a guaranteed minimum amount of $5,000 in Siena Heights University institutional financial aid is available for any qualified (regular admission criteria) Cardinal Stritch graduate. The amount is inclusive of athletic grants.

“Cardinal Stritch High School is excited about our new partnership with Siena Heights University,” says Father David Reinhart, president of the Kateri Catholic School System that includes the high school. “A recent study done by the University of Notre Dame suggested that in order for Catholic education to continue to thrive, Catholic high schools and Catholic universities need to form partnerships that focus on the common good of both. That spirit of cooperation is what we seek and have found in our partnership with Siena Heights University.”

Adrian Dominican Sister Peg Albert noted Cardinal Stritch’s strong academic reputation.

“Both Cardinal Stritch and Siena Heights focus on building community, and this partnership is a logical extension of this,” she said. “And our Catholic identity and tradition is another common bond. I am very pleased that Siena Heights is partnering with Cardinal Stritch High School.”

C. Patrick Palmer, Siena Heights vice president of enrollment management, said the partnership includes early admission and dual enrollment.

Coyle Funeral HomeSiena Heights also is to offer priority response for Cardinal Stritch students in regard to admissions decisions, residence hall accommodations, financial aid and other student support services. Other benefits of the agreement include campus ministry partnering, including Siena campus ministry/religious studies professors visiting Cardinal Stritch theology courses as guest speakers and guest presiding at school liturgies.
