SYLVANIA—Lourdes College has announced it is to begin offering campus housing for students beginning this fall at Wickford Woods apartments in Sylvania.
The complex is to be known as Lourdes Commons, and the two buildings facing McCord Road are to be renovated and reserved for up to 120 students. Lourdes has engaged Noneman Realty to manage all property operations.
According to a press release from the Catholic college, Lourdes has experienced six years of record-breaking growth, including a 15 percent overall increase in students ages 18-24. This housing will allow the college to enhance campus life and better engage and ensure academic success for its more than 2,300 students.
“More students than ever want to earn their degrees at Lourdes College,” notes Dr. Robert C. Helmer, president. “By offering campus housing, we are giving those students in our area and beyond the opportunity to attend Lourdes and take advantage of an affordable, values-centered private education.”
Student housing is to feature updated and furnished one- and two-bedroom apartment units. More details and a sample unit are available online at www.lourdes.edu/housing. A full meal plan also is to be available.
Lourdes also plans to add staff positions including a resident director, resident advisors and additional security personnel.
Registration for student housing is now open. Students who sign up for housing and place a deposit before July 1 are to receive a free Apple iPad. For additional details contact Roseanne Gill-Jacobson at 419-824-3829 or rgill-jacobson@lourdes.edu.
