TOLEDO—Father Dennis Hartigan, Toledo Central Catholic High School president, led more than 1,000 students, faculty and staff members on the school’s annual Advent Pilgrimage to Toledo Rosary Cathedral Dec. 22.

The spirited group processed across Cherry Street and down Islington to celebrate Mass at the cathedral, which is located several blocks away on Collingwood Boulevard.

Student council leaders carrying class candles, the CCHS Glee Club and Gospel Choir and the senior class led the student body.

The pilgrimage to Mass at Cathedral is a Central Catholic tradition that began more than 35 years ago. It is the school’s traditional kick-off to Christmas break for the students and staff, and it offers a final spiritual opportunity for the Central Catholic family in preparation for Christmas.
