Barry University is a Division II school with a premier rowing program. Lia earned a $16,000 crew scholarship and a $10,000 academic scholarship for a total of $26,000 over the four years. She plans to study biology.

Lia became hooked on rowing after she saw her first Frogtown Regatta. She couldn’t wait to row in high school. She crewed for seven seasons for the Eagles, both fall and spring, helping them earn numerous medals over the four years. She rowed varsity during her junior and senior years and served as team captain this year.

She has also been active in other activities throughout her four years at Notre Dame Academy including Latin Club and Mock Trial. She is consistently on the honor roll. Service-oriented, she has been a Mud Hens volunteer, worked at the crew boat house and is active at Notre Dame Academy as a tour guide.
