OREGON—Oregon Cardinal Stritch High School has named two new head basketball coaches to lead the school’s varsity teams.
Terry Murnen is the new head girls varsity basketball coach. He most recently was the assistant girls varsity basketball coach at Maumee High School. Mr. Murnen also coached at Toledo Central Catholic High School for nine years, including the freshman and junior varsity teams. He served for many years as a high school and college basketball official and was inducted into the Northwest Ohio District Basketball Officials Association Hall of Fame in 2009. He is an inside salesman at Modern Builders Supply.
Dave Reiker has been named the boys varsity basketball coach. Mr. Reiker was first-team all Ohio and Player of the Year in the Buckeye Conference while a student at Findlay High School. He is a former University of Toledo basketball player where he lettered all four years. Mr. Reiker, who is employed as a special education teacher with the Toledo Public Schools, has also served as a varsity assistant coach at Toledo St. Francis de Sales High School and mostly recently was the head varsity basketball coach at Toledo St. Ursula Academy.
In addition to coaching the varsity basketball teams, both men are to oversee the basketball programs in the primary and secondary levels in the Kateri Catholic School System.
