DAYTON—An overnight retreat Aug. 1-2 offers women interested in discerning God’s call the opportunity to explore a theme taken from the Sunday Scriptures, “Who is this Jesus?” In the Gospels, those who encountered Jesus always wanted to know more about Him. As contemporary women and men discern how God is working in their lives and where they may be called, the question expands further: “Who is this Jesus …. And what is He asking of me?” The quiet time and pace of an overnight retreat provides an ideal setting to reflect on these “big questions” in our lives.
There is no charge for the retreat, which is designed for single Catholic women ages 18-45. The overnight retreat begins at 1 p.m. Aug. 1, and concludes at 1 p.m. Aug. 2. It is hosted at Salem Heights, the motherhouse of the Sisters of the Precious Blood in Dayton.
The retreat provides participants time for personal and communal prayer and an opportunity to experience a variety of prayer forms. Participants can reflect on God’s call in the company of other retreatants and Sisters of the Precious Blood and in a relaxed, prayerful setting.
Meals (supper Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday) and overnight accommodations at the convent are included. Participants may also participate in Sunday morning eucharistic liturgy; the retreat will close after lunch.
Registration is requested by July 27 to arrange for meals, rooms and materials.
To learn more about the retreat, or to register, contact Precious Blood Sister Carolyn Hoying at 937-231-1244 or Vocations@PreciousBloodSistersDayton.org.
