Welcome back to the “new” Catholic Chronicle. After two years publishing a smaller edition twice   month, the print edition of the Chronicle is back to a larger, monthly edition.

It has been a pleasure to hear from so many people this summer who said they are excited to have the “old” version of the paper coming back again. Your kind words and encouragement have been a boost to the staff as we prepared this first redesigned monthly edition of the Chronicle for you.

web mug angieAs promised, this issue contains many of the features you have missed: obituaries and parish death notices can be found near the back of the paper; deanery pages are back, just after the news pages; columnists are back in print; and there is room for more features.

While we brought back many of your old favorites, we have included some new features as well. Some of the stories in the print edition may have more information or photos or a multimedia presentation that you can find online. We will indicate this with a special logo letting you know there is even more to see related to the print story.

For those of you who also like to connect with us online, there is a page devoted to what you can find it where it can be found. In addition to our online offerings, this page features a photo of the month from photos submitted by readers. We are starting an online photo blog of pictures sent to us by readers and will feature one in each print edition. Be sure to send us your photos, either through Facebook or email them to catholicchronicle@toledodiocese.org.

We are also beginning to publish an e-newsletter that contains links to news online. If you don’t regularly visit our website, you will want to subscribe to this newsletter so you don’t miss anything in between print editions. Find the subscription form on the right side of any page of our website.

Whether its online or in print, we want to stay connected to our readers. You are an important part of our publications. Since we can’t be in every part of the diocese all the time, we rely on you for story tips and submissions. Join us for discussions of topics on Facebook and Twitter. Email us your ideas, stories and photos. Help us keep the print edition strong and successful by picking it up at church and encouraging others to do the same. And finally, let us know what you think about our new print edition. What do you like and what could we do to make it even better? Your comments are welcome at ccnews@toledodiocese. org or connect with us at www.facebook.com/CatholicChronicle.
