VAN WERT—Knights of Columbus Council 6034 of Van Wert recently released “A Child of God,” a song recorded to benefit the pro-life movement.
Composed by Cathy Steffan, an organist at Van Wert St. Mary of the Assumption, the song tells the story of an unborn child pleading to be born and the mother responding with love. It was performed by parishioners and choir members Mia Keirns and Mary Fallis, a mother- daughter duo, and recorded at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center with help from sound technician Hugh Saunier.
All donations for the compact disc are to benefit the Van Wert Pregnancy Life Center, which provides physical, emotional and spiritual support to young mothers and mothers-to-be. The initial award was $500.
The CD can be ordered by contacting the St. Mary parish office during regular business hours at 419-238-3979. Copies will also available at the Allen County Right to Life dinner, to be held Aug. 21 at the Delphos Knights of Columbus Hall.
