TOLEDO—The 40 Days for Life campaign returns to Toledo Sept. 26 with 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, as well as community outreach and peaceful witness.
“We know 40 Days for Life has made a difference in the Toledo area,” says Ann Barrick, coordinator of the local campaign.
She cites positive results of previous campaigns, including nine babies saved from abortion, more than 1,000 people praying to end abortion and more than 40 local churches participating in the campaign.
40 Days for Life is a highly-focused, non-denominational, pro-life initiative that focuses on 40 days of prayer and fasting and peaceful vigils at abortion facilities along with grassroots educational outreach. The 40-day time frame is drawn from examples throughout biblical history.
The Toledo campaign is to feature a 40-day prayer vigil on the sidewalk outside the Center for Choice, 328 22nd St. All prayer vigil participants are asked to sign a statement of peace, pledging to conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner at all times.
