The parish festival season is beginning and Lima St. Rose and Sylvania St. Joseph are hosting the first fests of the year.
In Sylvania, the Festirama begins May 14 and continues through May 16. Hours are 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Scheduled during the festival are rides, food and games for all ages. The festival also features a barbecue chicken dinner served from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The meal is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and $7 for children. Take-out is available.
Live entertainment is also part of the fun with Madison Avenue performing from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday; Haywire playing from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday; and Johnny Rodriguez entertaining the crowd from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
In Lima, the festivities begin May 15, which is adult night for guests 21 and older. Entertainment includes a DJ from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the band Indoorfins takes the stage at 7:30 p.m.
May 16 is family day with events offered from noon to 8 p.m.
In addition to the usual festival fare — games, food, music, rides, raffles and more — the event features barbecue chicken and Swiss steak dinners. For carry-out orders, call 419-224-7401.
