Free Thanksgiving meals offered throughout the diocese

Whether looking for a volunteer opportunity or a much-needed meal, there are several free Thanksgiving dinners being offered throughout the Diocese of Toledo.

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Toledo compiled the list of dinners, which are detailed below with contact information for each site.

St. Joan of Arc

Dinner is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Day in the school gym.

Augsburg Lutheran Church
1342 W. Sylvania Ave.
Meals can be picked up or delivered after 11 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. To place an order, call Cindy at 419-704-3114 by Nov. 19.

Pilgrim Church

Dinner is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church
Corner of Cherry and Summit streets
Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 15. Other programs offered are a children's corner, health care and homeless-related services. Bus or van service to the luncheon is available from the M.L.K. Kitchen for the Poor at 10 a.m., Family House at 10:15 a.m., Helping Hands of St. Louis at 10:30 a.m. and the Thomas M. Wernert Center at 10:35 a.m. The meal is sponosred by the City of Toledo Department of Neighborhoods.

Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission

Sandusky Holy Angels

Co-sponsored with Zion Lutheran Church, the meal is served in the Holy Angels school gymnasium from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Carryout dinners are available. Transportation or meal delivery for shut-ins and the disabled can be arranged by calling the parish office, 419-625-3698, before Nov. 21.
