Sister Gloria Auer, 60 years Sr. Auer entered the Sisters of Mercy in Cincinnati on Feb. 2, 1950, from her home parish of Ascension of Our Lord in Cleveland. She made her perpetual profession Aug. 16, 1955.
For 50 years, she ministered in elementary education. She was a teacher for 23 years and a principal for 27 years. She served in Cincinnati, Toledo, Cleveland and Geneva, Ohio. She also served for five years at Our Lady of the Pines Retreat Center in Fremont.
Sister Joan Marie Warnement, 60 years Sr. Warnement was a member of Upper Sandusky Transfiguration of the Lord (St. Peter) before entering the Sisters of Mercy on Sept. 8, 1950. She made her perpetual profession Aug. 16, 1955.
An educator, Sr. Warnement taught at Toledo St. Catherine and Toledo St. Clement and was principal of Toledo McAuley High School. She now also serves as administrator of Our Lady of the Pines Retreat Center and co-administrator of St. Bernardine Home in Fremont, where she lives.
Sister Kathleen Marie Noonan, 50 years Sr. Noonan entered the Sisters of Mercy from her home parish of St. Mary Church in Piqua, Ohio, on Sept. 7, 1960.
She taught elementary school for 20 years and was principal for 10 years. For the past eight years she has served as director of McAuley Convent, a retirement convent for the Sisters of Mercy, and is currently director of St. Bernardine Home in Fremont. She ministered in Cincinnati, Urbana, Springfield, Sharonville and Piqua, Ohio, as well as in Knoxville, Tenn.
Sister Patricia Carter, 50 years Sr. Carter entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1960 from Holy Family Parish in Columbus.
Sr. Carter’s ministries have included elementary education, nursing and hospital administration. Currently, she serves as an assistant professor of nursing at Terra Community College in Fremont.
Sister Mary Lee McCrady, 50 years Sr. McCrady entered the Sisters of Mercy on Sept. 7, 1960, from her home parish of Vermilion St. Mary. Her birth name was Barbara McCrady.
Currently, Sr. McCrady serves as a member of the staff at Upper Sandusky St. Peter School. Other schools in which she has ministered include Sandusky Holy Angels, Toledo St. Clement and Ascension in Cleveland, as well as Christ the King in Nashville, Tenn.
