Leaving St. Mary parking lot around 1:30 p.m., the ride is to follow the designated escort through downtown Delaware and is to end at the Complete Healthcare for Women abortion clinic at 5888 Cleveland Ave., Columbus. Once there Fr. Pavone is to lead a sidewalk prayer vigil commemorating the unborn babies lost to abortion.
Car flags, window decals and Freedom Rider buttons are available for private purchase. Parking is to be available at St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church, 5858 Cleveland Ave., and the parish hall is to be open.
The first Freedom Ride for the Unborn was held last July from Birmingham, Ala., to Atlanta. Alveda King, director of African American Outreach of Priests For Life and Fr. Pavone initiated these rides. These rides provide a vision of prolife unity and public witness to the sanctity of human life, particularly that of the unborn.
A fundraiser dinner is to be offered following the sidewalk prayer service at Pontifical College Josephinum’s Jessing Center at 5 p.m.
Brian Patrick, host of “The Son Rise Morning Show,” is to emcee the evening event and Elmer Cabotage, concert pianist, is to provide dinner entertainment along with violinist Steven Greenman of Harmonia Ensemble.
Following dinner, Fr. Pavone is to be available to sign his books: “Ending Abortion (Not Just Fighting It)” and “Pro-Life Reflections for Every Day.”
Dinner reservations are $250 per person and are available by contacting Marianne Johnson at 740-369-2936 or kemaj1@msn.com. Information is also available at www.delawarestmary.org/resources/priests-for-life-events/.
