A number of items are being produced to commemorate the centenary of the Diocese of Toledo, including:

A centenary rosary with a special centerpiece is to be sold before and after the Oct. 7 feast day Mass and at shrines and religious bookstores throughout the diocese and in Fort Wayne, Ind., soon thereafter. The rosary is constructed of silver-plated wire and chain with hematite Hail Mary and silver-plated Our Father beads, and the crucifix and the center are made of bright, oxidized silver.

The Diocese of Toledo: 1910-2010, a 240-page, full-color history book that chronicles the life of the local church from the early history of Ohio through today, is to be made available for purchase through parishes beginning in September. It is the first book to include history from the periods under the leadership of the late Bishop James R. Hoffman and Bishop Leonard P. Blair.

A 2010 centenary calendar published by the Catholic Church Extension Society and centenary prayer cards are to be made available in all parishes.

A multi-grade centenary curriculum is to be made available for use in schools.

The diocese also sponsored a contest for the writing of a centenary hymn that will debut at the televised Mass in October.
