Adrian Dominican Sister Anne Starcevich, formerly known as Sister George Marie, died June 25 at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Mich. She was in the 79th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican congregation. Born in Chicago, Sr. Starcevich graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Adrian. She received a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in History from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian and a Master of Education degree from DePaul University in Chicago. Sr. Starcevich spent 59 years ministering in education in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, New Mexico and Puerto Rico. She taught in Toledo at Blessed Sacrament from 1931-1937. Sr. Starcevich became a resident of the Dominican Life Center in 1997. She is survived by three sisters, Georgianne Caputo of Norwalk, Catherine Malone of South Holland, Ill., and Rosaline Starcevich of Alsip, Ill.
