Notre Dame Sister Luella Marie Fisher, formerly known as Sr. Mary Hilbert, died May 17 at the Provincial Center of the Sisters of Notre Dame in Toledo. Born Luella Frances Fisher in Fremont, Sr. Fisher entered the congregation in 1941 and for the following 65 years, served in food service and as an elementary school teacher in many schools and parishes including Marygrove Immaculate Conception, Leipsic St. Mary, Sandusky St. Mary, Fostoria St. Wendelin, Bethlehem Sacred Heart, Maumee St. Joseph, Norwalk St. Paul, Delphos St. John, St. Michael’s Ridge St. Michael, Fremont St. Joseph, Lial Convent in Whitehouse, Rosary Care Center in Sylvania, and in Toledo: Holy Rosary, St. James, Sacred Heart, St. Michael, St. Mary, Mary Immaculate, Notre Dame Academy and the Provincial Center. She is survived by her sisters Viola (Eugene) Mehling, Helen Arnold, Bernice Haubert of Fremont, and Irene (Donald) Ott of Greensprings, and many nieces and nephews.
