Adrian Dominican Sister Marcella LaKoske, formerly Sr. Ann Valerie, died June 19 at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Mich., in her 66th year of religious profession. Born in Detroit to William and Julia (Kujat) LaKoske, she received a Bachelor of Philosophy in English and a Master of Education from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian, Mich., and went on to minister in Michigan, Ohio and Florida. In the Diocese of Toledo, Sr. Lakoske taught at Marblehead St. Joseph, New Bavaria Sacred Heart and Toledo Blessed Sacrament. Sr. LaKoske is survived by two sisters, Rita Candela of Lathrup Village, Mich., and Eugenia Obrecht of Romeo, Mich. She was preceded in death by two cousins, Sister Celine Nemshak and Sister Marie Joan Nemshak, who were also Adrian Dominican Sisters.
