Felician Sister Mary Stephanie Kluczynski died June 22 at the provincial house of the Felician Sisters in Livonia, Mich., after 80 years of religious life. Formerly Gertrude Kluczynski, Sr. Kluczynski was born in Schenectady, N.Y., to Joseph and Victoria Miller Kluczynski. Her family later moved to Detroit where she entered the aspirancy at Felician Academy. She made her final profession of vows in 1939. Sr. Kluczynski earned a Bachelor of Arts from Madonna College (University) and a Master of Education from Wayne State University and went on to teach at the elementary, junior high and high school level, including at St. Stanislaus and St. Adalbert (Catholic Central) in Toledo. After retiring in 1994, she assisted with sewing and the prayer ministry in the provincial house infirmary. Sr. Kluczynski’s survivors include many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews.
