HURON—A prayer and healing service is planned for Oct. 14 at the Huron Community Prayer Path and Labyrinth, located behind Zion Lutheran Church at 930 South Main St., Huron.
The service opens at 2 p.m. with prayer and praise. Opportunities for individual prayer and healing begin at 2:30 p.m. at five stations: work and financial needs; emotional healing, such as anxiety, fears or personal needs; marriages and relationships; military, state, country and world issues; and physical healing. There will also be a prayer station inside the Christian Center for those who cannot walk the path. A praise and thanksgiving service follows at 4 p.m.
The Huron Community Prayer Path and Labyrinth was created in 2005 when an ecumenical group of volunteers blazed four miles of paths through woods and built a labyrinth. Fourteen meditation stations with prayer booklets and benches are placed in beautiful surroundings. The path is free and open to the public from dawn to dusk seven days a week, and many have experienced healing touches and answered prayer walking the paths and labyrinth.
