TIFFIN—The Sisters of St. Francis of Tiffin are hosting an open house of their newly-renovated convent from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 8.

“The renovations began in September 2010, and we are glad the process is over,” says Tiffin Franciscan Sister Diane Mueller, project manager. “For the first time in our history, we can say we have a handicapped-accessible entrance. We are also pleased that the main entrance can now be seen from the driveway and is very welcoming. The whole bottom floor has been renovated, too, including the library.”

Tiffin Franciscan Sister Jackie Doepker, community minister, says the renovations were necessary.

“We are happy to have a more welcoming, accessible entrance to our motherhouse,” Sr. Doepker says. “The transformation of our laundry room into an attractive reception area has been phenomenal. We are hoping many people come out to see the changes.”

The open house begins with a blessing of the convent at 2 p.m., followed by a tour of the renovated areas of the convent, which is located at 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. For more information, call 419-447-0435.
