St. Peter student council honored at conference

MANSFIELD—Ten members of the Mansfield St. Peter Elementary/Junior High student council recently attended the three-day Ohio Association of Student Councils conference in Fort Jennings, Ohio, where their council was honored with several awards.

Long-time moderators Angie Dillon and Jackie Kulka accompanied the students to the conference, which offered workshops on team building, leadership and communication.

The St. Peter Elementary/Junior High students council received several awards including the Honor Council, given to councils that are active in the school and community; the Army of Volunteers, given to councils that are involved in service to the school and community; and the 5 Star Council, given to schools that participate in leadership training workshops through the state association.

Mrs. Kulka was also honored with the Joseph Donavan Middle Level Advisor of the Year award.
