Lifelong Learning presents seminar on the death penalty

SYLVANIA—The Lourdes College Lifelong Learning program presents “Religious Perspectives On The Death Penalty: A Lifelong Learning Seminar” Oct. 1 at 10:30 a.m.

The lecture is to be moderated by Joe Moran, instructor of sociology and justice studies at Lourdes, and held in the Franciscan Theatre & Conference Center Common Rooms A and B. Lunch is to be provided at the conclusion.

A variety of different views on the death penalty are to be presented, including perspectives from three regional religious leaders: Father Dennis Metzger, pastor of Sylvania St. Joseph; Fatima Al Hayani, a retired University of Toledo professor of Middle East and Islamic affairs; and Rabbi Alan Sokobin, Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Shomer Em Unim.

The Lifelong Learning program of Lourdes College is open to all individuals with an interest in ongoing learning. Members enjoy classes in a wide variety of academic subjects, field trips, lectures and monthly meetings with guest speakers.
