WHITEHOUSE—As Advent comes around each year, many people long for quiet in the midst of noise, distractions and the busyness of holiday preparations.

The Sisters of Notre Dame are offering that escape through an Advent series, “Light the Way to Christmas” at Lial Renewal Center. The program is offered from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays from Nov. 30 through Dec. 21.

Notre Dame Sister Mary Rosellyn Theisen is to lead participants in reflecting on various aspects of the coming of Christ:
• Nov. 30: Lighting the way to Christmas
• Dec. 7: Making room for Christ
• Dec. 14: Gifting others as a spiritual practice
• Dec. 21: Bringing to birth the God of peace

Each session provides a time for quiet prayer, sharing and a hands-on project to use at home. Attendees may come to one or all of the sessions. The cost of each program is $15.
