Central Catholic athletes sign to play college sports

TOLEDO—Student athletes at Toledo Central Catholic High School participated in National Signing Day activities Feb. 1.

The following students signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers with their respective colleges:

Alyssa Huff — Siena Heights University, Adrian, Mich., soccer

Erik Johnson — Slippery Rock University, Penn., football

Jim Johnston — Siena Heights University, football

Logan Lorenzen — Wittenberg, Springfield, Ohio, football

Erin Seiler — University of Akron, softball

Jamie Sobczak — Wheeling Jesuit University, W.Va., basketball

Kevin Warner — Adrian College, Mich., football

Abby Wietrzykowski — Wheeling Jesuit University, volleyball

Tyler Wilson — Siena Heights University, track

Central Catholic High School’s athletic tradition dates back to the formation of the school in the 1920s. In the class of 2011, 22 students received athletic scholarships, including five to Division I schools and 12 to Division II schools.
