TOLEDO—Greater Toledo Aquatic Club’s Rowan Williams, a junior at Toledo St. Francis de Sales High School, has been honored as a National Scholastic All-American for the 2008-2009 academic year by USA Swimming for his outstanding performance in the classroom and in the pool.

Rowan, the only male in northwest Ohio to be honored, was selected for maintaining a 3.5 or higher grade point average in grades 10, 11 or 12, and for achieving at least a Junior National bonus cut. Rowan has been on the honor roll at St. Francis since his freshman year and holds a Senior National cut in the 100 backstroke. Last year, he scored 6th place at Ohio High School State Championships in the same event.

He is the son of Carol Sargent and Wayne Williams of Ottawa Hills.
