Presented by Josie Setzler, the retreat looks at what economy we are recovering and transforming a system by transforming our own hearts. Time is to be spent on security, freedom, and progress, examining them in the light of the three Gospel passages that are said to have inspired the work of St. Francis of Assisi. The program also relies on inspiration from Dorothy Day, Peter Maurin, and the Catholic Worker, Gustavo Gutierrez, John Howard Yoder, Daniel Berrigan and Chris Hedges. Reflections range over voluntary poverty, precarity, philosophy of work, works of mercy, prophetic witness, and community. The cost is $25 by March 1 and $35 thereafter. The program includes lunch and snacks.
